This proposal is two rooftop gardens for Eco-Initiatives NDG on the YMCA-NDG building. These elevated gardens are part of the permaculture organic food production at the Cantaloupe gardens already established on the land of the YMCA. They are designed to be a combination of vertical and horizontal containers to experiment with techniques for growing food off the ground, including cold frames, hydroponics, and water and compost collection. They are also educational spaces for workshops and the community.
